Barack The Naive
When Barack Obama canceled missiles scheduled for eastern Europe many said he gave away a key bargaining chip and got nothing in return. Others said “there was a deal”. I figured of course there was a deal. It might have looked like a preemptive give away but surely the President had at the very least assurances from Russia for support in negotiations with Iran.
But after Obama’s failed trip to Copenhagen, I’m not so sure. I cannot imagine the President hopping on Air Force One, flying to Denmark for a four hour meeting expecting to secure the Olympics for Chicago purely on the force of his presence alone. There must have been a deal.
There was no deal.
The President must be embarrassed, I know I am. This is the man that we elected to command the military, get us out of a recession and represent us on the world stage.
He is a rube. Let’s hope he takes this stinging defeat as a wake up call that it is time to stop acting like a rock star, jet setting around at the taxpayers’s expense and get to work.
Mr President, stop running around your back hand, end the campaign and accept that yes you really are the President of the United States and start acting that way.

I don’t think that any of us who knew that Obama was a loser before the election are really surprised that things are turning out this way. Obama bought into all the hype about him being the savior of the world. He thinks that people will bend to his will, just because of who he is. It must be a real bummer for him now, because it has got to be becoming obvious to him now that he is going to have to actually come up with the goods and be President…not just play-act at it.
That’s quite a leap….the fact the U.S. didn’t get the Olympics must mean Obama had no deal with Russia? What kind of logic is that?
The U.S. Olympic Committee has had numerous problems and a run in with the I.O.C. over it’s venture into television. Not to mention the U.S. denied visas for athletes to compete in other U.S. based competitions. In other words, the U.S. has pissed off a lot of people and the Obamas’ appearance in Copenhagen is just one step in trying to change world attitude and opinion toward us.
To link the two events is really rather silly.
Below is part of an article on the visa problem:
“Among the toughest questions posed to the Chicago bid team this week in Copenhagen was one that raised the issue of what kind of welcome foreigners would get from airport officials when they arrived in this country to attend the Games. Syed Shahid Ali, an I.O.C. member from Pakistan, in the question-and-answer session following Chicago’s official presentation, pointed out that entering the United States can be “a rather harrowing experience.”
The exchange underscores what tourism officials here have been saying for years about the sometimes rigorous entry process for foreigners, which they see as a deterrent to tourism. Once the news came out that Chicago lost its Olympic bid, the U.S. Travel Association didn’t miss an opportunity to point that out, sending out a critical press release within hours. ”

Welcome to Chicago politics. Chicago gave him his start so he tries to pay back all the crooked unions and politicians by using his pulpit to go after the Olympics. It is pathetic that a President of the “United States” would go out of his way to promote one city. It was completely inappropriate and a waste of taxpayer dollars in addition to showing how little clout he really has around the world.
France may like him because he repeatedly apologizes for America but the rest of the world, the ones we should care about, is now anything but scared of the USA. Did you notice how the Russians moved missiles into the border region when Obama gave up the defense shield? Did anyone notice how the Russian dignitaries wouldn’t even shake his hand? Does anyone realize that Iran is just thumbing their nose at him? He has given away any ground that the previous (significantly stronger) leader left him. The world already sees him as weak and he only has 9 months under his belt. The IOCC should have negotiated a little with Obama, he would have given a small state to them to avoid the embarrassment and to keep the God like myth alive. It has been fun to watch the administration pretend that it didn’t happen.
It is interesting how they are now trying to blame the committee, the country, the previous administration blah blah blah.
