California-A Great Place For A Small Business……
…..as long as you start out with a large one.
California’s business climate already ranks 48th worst in the nation. We have the highest sales taxes, the highest gas taxes, high income taxes, and one of the highest corporate taxes in the nation. The costs of running a business, combined with the risks of lawsuits, and ever-changing state regulations, often putting the burden on the business owner to prove compliance, is running businesses right out of the state.
What people don’t realize is that the far left believes that business is evil and therefore if all business is driven out of California it will be just great. They don’t even really know why business is evil. They will quote a coporate scandal or some overly greedy jerk and make a mental leap that all business is evil. They never want to discuss the payroll paid, the oportunities given, the taxes paid, the incredible hours worked or the risks taken by entrepenuers to make it all happen.
My brother is a lawyer and he falls right into this kind of thinking. He quotes horrible cases where a consumer has been mistreated but then I point out that law school only covers the 1/10 of 1% of cases which include unhappy or mistreated people. I say, ‘I guess you leave the other 99.9% up to the busines school to discuss.” Even when faced with that kind of logic, he can’t get out of his head that business is evil.
We have lead the world for 200 years. We feed, educate and care for more people than any other country in the history of the world and it is all paid for by businesses. Whithout those businesses there are no payrolls, no taxes, no education and no economy.
Please California, there are only a few of us left. You need to quit trying to make us leave because China and every other country is asking us to move in.
