The Sun Sets On The American Empire

April 16, 2010 Activism, Nasa 1 Comment By SactoDan

Sunset brings with it the promise of a new sunrise replete with hope and anticipation of what the new dawn portends.

The sun setting on the American empire holds no such promise. The canary in the coal mine of American supremacy is NASA, and the American manned space program. President Obama has all but cancelled it.

While gutting NASA, President Obama explained ”The bottom line is: Nobody is more committed to manned space flight, the human exploration of space, than I am. But we’ve got to do it in a smart way; we can’t keep doing the same old things as before.”

The “smart way” laid out by President Obama contains no clear mission and pays the Russians to take American Astronauts into space. For the first time in nearly my entire life the United States Of America will have no means to put a person in space, and no plan to accomplish it.

Since the 60’s “the same old things as before” brought us numerous leaps in technology, innovative products and a sense of national pride and optimism. It didn’t matter what party you were from, the lofty goals set forth by John F Kennedy signified an ability to pursue something bigger than politics, bigger than all of us. We didn’t pursue the moon because it was easy President Kennedy said, we pursued it because it was hard.

Instead Obama takes us where no America has gone before, where more than half the country is beholden to the Government for some essential part of their lives.

Fewer and fewer of us are pulling the wagon of America and the weight of it is becoming unbearable. So much so that we can no longer afford the American Space program and the hope and optimism that it signifies.

Yes I am afraid this symbolizes the rattling last breath of the drive, desire and determination that made America great. The sun is setting on America, and if we continue on the same course, there is no promising dawn ahead.

There are many of us out here that still believe in the dream and promise that is America. We must unite in support of the Constitution and resist this oppression that is embodied in Obama’s attempt to take us to socialism and mediocrity. Vote them out.

Student’s Day Of Action and the TEA Party Movement-Different But Similar

College students all over California took to the streets today to protest budget cuts in scenes reminiscent of the anti-war protests of the sixties. Students shut down intersections, freeways and buildings and were countered by riot police armed with pepper spray, night sticks and hand cuffs. The students are protesting fee increases caused by budget cuts that are forcing many out of school as they can not afford their education at the higher rates.

Millions of Americans also took to the streets in the TEA Party movement over the last year or so and maybe there is a connection.

There is a difference. The TEA Party protestors are saying they are Taxed Enough Already. The students on the other hand want taxpayers to subsidize more of their education. One wants a bigger share of the tax money collected from others while those others are saying enough already.

But there is also a similarity. They are both symptoms of bad government, and bad government has sent millions of Americans into the streets protesting. These are the same Americans that rarely pay more than a passing interest in government as they go about their daily lives. A sleeping giant has awakened, it does not like what it sees and if things do not change it will reach critical mass.

SHAME on you California State Legislature. Year after year you overspend with no common sense of priorities. Instead of balancing the budget you borrow to cover the shortfall. Now California is nearly bankrupt and our once proud public education system is not so proud anymore.

And the Federal Government is following California right down the tidy bowl as President Obama and Congress try to force national health care down our throats when they haven’t yet dealt with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security or the worst unemployment since the great depression. Spending in the first year of the Obama Administration has already eclipsed the entire 8 years of the Bush Administration but it isn’t working.

There are four priorities California in particular should be focusing on. 1. Public Safety, 2. Infrastructure, 3. Education, 4. Caring for the truly helpless amongst us. Despite the many tempting good causes the State, under direction from well meaning but often misguided lawmakers takes on, there has to be a limit.

We  would recognize good government if we had it. It would focus on the four priorities. Budgets would be balanced, there would be no long term debt and there would be a rainy day contingency fund for difficult times such as these. Taxes would be lower empowering growth and job creation. Businesses, especially small ones would not be crippled by staggering regulations, taxes and fees. Our schools would be among the best in the country as they used to be turning out the best and brightest to help tackle our problems.

Yes a sleeping giant is awakening. What form will its anger take? Lets hope the politicians get the message at the ballot box. Join me in the next election and vote against every incumbent in either party. It is time to send these self serving moneyhaulics packing. Let’s throw the bums out!

Here’s some video from NEWSY.COM about the student protests:

Obama Heckled at Coakley Rally-Stutters As Heckler Removed

January 18, 2010 Activism 2 Comments By SactoDan

The tea party movement has spawned a new era of conservatives using the tried and true methods of the left. Obama is flustered enough to interrupt his speech as this person heckles him. We don’t know the identity or affiliation of the heckler, only that he has guts, is a big fool, or both.

But it does point out that the anointed one is not universally loved.

Paid Bloggers? Say it Ain’t So! Brad Goerhing / Leading California Republican Blogs Jammed With Paid Bloggers?

Wow – the shock of it all!

A campaign in Northern California got busted for having one of it’s paid consultants (Note- not an independent contractor, someone on their payroll) blog and attack their opponents… the horror!

While self-righteous consultants grandstanded over my ouster from Red County, one of their own admits he’s a paid blogger and still other campaigns are getting “exposed” for using paid bloggers. Witness CA-11 for example.

At least I can say that A – I did disclose my preferences and B – that the fix was in on Meg County a While ago…

Read the latest post at www.rightondaily.com yourself and decide…

Campaigns are figuring out the necessity and the power of the Blog.

Placer County Republican Party Under Fire by Sacramento Bee… (Breaking) Roger Niello the Choice of Big Labor

The Bee is depressed. John Doolittle isn’t around anymore to hate. Tom McClintock is regaining his rock star status in the GOP.

All that’s left is to attack those Right-Wing nutcases in the Placer County Republican Central Committee. Yours truly has a few things to say about that…

Sacramento Bee Rampage Post

Periodically, I will visit the National Republicrat Blog and give the readers a sampling of stories I have been working on.

I was informed recently that Roger Niello got some curiously timed Political Contributions. Those of you that remember Roger Niello as one of the three Republicans in the Assembly that joined the Democrats in foisting the largest tax increase in state history will not be surpised…

… that Roger Niello’s campaign finance report from right after that fateful February 2009 vote is full of contributions from Labor Unions.

I am glad to be a part of the National Republicrat blogging team – but I am far from a Republicrat… I am proud to say that voting for John McCain made me ill.

Things to look forward to -

Exposing the fraud that is Meg Whitman.
Introducing State Poizner as the Republican choice for Governor. Introducing you to Sam Aanestad for Lt. Governor.
Full coverage of North State races and politics – including the 2010 Rick Keene vs Doug La Malfa primary battle that will be epic – but could get drowned out in the deluge that will be the governor’s race.

Hunting RINO’s and Liberals (is there a difference?) gratuitiously.

You’ve been warned – Happy New Year.

CA-19 Update: Look at All the Union Money to Jeff Denham!

May 26, 2010

Jeff Denham is a Fraud. Looks Pretty on the Outside until you unwrap the package and what’s inside… oh mama.
As a State Senator he voted for some awful legislation and was basically the twin of uber-liberal “Republican” Abel Maldonado.
What was Denham’s motivation to be that way?
Follow the Money. Ever wondered why Jeff Denham [...]

Tom “Thomas The Tax Engine” Campbell – the Subject of “Analysis” for his lack of Advertising

May 17, 2010

Now – did you see the monstrous, fiscally un-conservative mailer from  Thomas the Tax Engine? So did I, it was cat-pan liner. I cut and pasted some analysis from Team Carly as to why our favorite Marxist Republican is not on the air – anywhere.

Happy Monday -
