Student’s Day Of Action and the TEA Party Movement-Different But Similar

College students all over California took to the streets today to protest budget cuts in scenes reminiscent of the anti-war protests of the sixties. Students shut down intersections, freeways and buildings and were countered by riot police armed with pepper spray, night sticks and hand cuffs. The students are protesting fee increases caused by budget cuts that are forcing many out of school as they can not afford their education at the higher rates.

Millions of Americans also took to the streets in the TEA Party movement over the last year or so and maybe there is a connection.

There is a difference. The TEA Party protestors are saying they are Taxed Enough Already. The students on the other hand want taxpayers to subsidize more of their education. One wants a bigger share of the tax money collected from others while those others are saying enough already.

But there is also a similarity. They are both symptoms of bad government, and bad government has sent millions of Americans into the streets protesting. These are the same Americans that rarely pay more than a passing interest in government as they go about their daily lives. A sleeping giant has awakened, it does not like what it sees and if things do not change it will reach critical mass.

SHAME on you California State Legislature. Year after year you overspend with no common sense of priorities. Instead of balancing the budget you borrow to cover the shortfall. Now California is nearly bankrupt and our once proud public education system is not so proud anymore.

And the Federal Government is following California right down the tidy bowl as President Obama and Congress try to force national health care down our throats when they haven’t yet dealt with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security or the worst unemployment since the great depression. Spending in the first year of the Obama Administration has already eclipsed the entire 8 years of the Bush Administration but it isn’t working.

There are four priorities California in particular should be focusing on. 1. Public Safety, 2. Infrastructure, 3. Education, 4. Caring for the truly helpless amongst us. Despite the many tempting good causes the State, under direction from well meaning but often misguided lawmakers takes on, there has to be a limit.

We  would recognize good government if we had it. It would focus on the four priorities. Budgets would be balanced, there would be no long term debt and there would be a rainy day contingency fund for difficult times such as these. Taxes would be lower empowering growth and job creation. Businesses, especially small ones would not be crippled by staggering regulations, taxes and fees. Our schools would be among the best in the country as they used to be turning out the best and brightest to help tackle our problems.

Yes a sleeping giant is awakening. What form will its anger take? Lets hope the politicians get the message at the ballot box. Join me in the next election and vote against every incumbent in either party. It is time to send these self serving moneyhaulics packing. Let’s throw the bums out!

Here’s some video from NEWSY.COM about the student protests:

Abel Maldonado’s Campaign Started in December – “Orange-Placer Axis!?”

I can’t make this stuff up – Abel Maldonado, who engages in a ritual every budget season called “What’s my Price” – introduced himself to the Lt. Governor’s race in December 2009.

His consultant – Patrick Dornison – is a the poster child of what a RINO is. Dorinson was a lifelong Democrat until re-registering to run Arnold’s campaign in 2003.

He introduces Abel Maldonado to the Lt. Governor’s race by slamming the Republican activist base.

Meanwhile, on the floor of the Assembly, when round one failed to get Maldo in to the Lt. Governor’s office – one Principled Che’ Guevarra disciple, Jose Solorio lit Maldonado up in a Sgt. York-esque fashion. (I wish I had the video)

Read it all here

Yet – the Republican Leadership are supporting this guy’s confirmation. Stop Abel Now!

CA State Senator Alan Lowenthal Wants You To Pay For Parking, Everywhere

The essential part of the bill is that it goes to the heart of having a car. You need a place to park it. The theory is that if there were fewer parking spaces, you might think longer about taking the bus. (ABCNEWS)

State Senator Lowenthal thinks you have a convenient bus or light rail near you that you will ride if he makes you pay for parking. What a STUPID idea. This is the same logic used when Jerry Brown was Governor to build fewer roads. Rights of way for needed freeways were sold off under the theory that if traffic congestion got bad enough, people would stop driving. An example is the Watt Ave. and Sunrise Ave. corridor in Sacramento County. There would have been a freeway connecting US 50 and I 80 had Adriana Gianturco (Caltrans Director) and Jerry Brown not subscribed to this stupid logic.

Now the congestion is nearly unbearable but the rights of way are too expensive to recover and the roads cannot be built.

This is not New York City where population density favors mass transit and the city was built up around it. It is California. The same California with the highest unemployment, worse schools and highest taxes in the nation.

This kind of thinking got us the California we have, but it also got us the recent election in Massachusetts. Voters have had enough behavior modification. They need jobs.

Great idea Lowenthal, great timing! Here is Senator Lowenthal’s website. Maybe you could tell him what you think, or better yet, next election maybe vote for someone else.

Placer County Republican Party Under Fire by Sacramento Bee… (Breaking) Roger Niello the Choice of Big Labor

The Bee is depressed. John Doolittle isn’t around anymore to hate. Tom McClintock is regaining his rock star status in the GOP.

All that’s left is to attack those Right-Wing nutcases in the Placer County Republican Central Committee. Yours truly has a few things to say about that…

Sacramento Bee Rampage Post

Periodically, I will visit the National Republicrat Blog and give the readers a sampling of stories I have been working on.

I was informed recently that Roger Niello got some curiously timed Political Contributions. Those of you that remember Roger Niello as one of the three Republicans in the Assembly that joined the Democrats in foisting the largest tax increase in state history will not be surpised…

… that Roger Niello’s campaign finance report from right after that fateful February 2009 vote is full of contributions from Labor Unions.

I am glad to be a part of the National Republicrat blogging team – but I am far from a Republicrat… I am proud to say that voting for John McCain made me ill.

Things to look forward to -

Exposing the fraud that is Meg Whitman.
Introducing State Poizner as the Republican choice for Governor. Introducing you to Sam Aanestad for Lt. Governor.
Full coverage of North State races and politics – including the 2010 Rick Keene vs Doug La Malfa primary battle that will be epic – but could get drowned out in the deluge that will be the governor’s race.

Hunting RINO’s and Liberals (is there a difference?) gratuitiously.

You’ve been warned – Happy New Year.

Demonstrating Students Beaten By Police- Shame On You California

The California State Legislature never met a good cause, union boss or lobbyist it could say no to. It spends tax money without regard to common sense and leaves no reserves for difficult economic times. Money must be borrowed every year to balance the budget.

The latest casualties are college students, facing a 30% increase in fees. They are understandably upset, and making their displeasure known by demonstrating. This video shows police beating our sons and daughters with sticks at a recent demonstration.

You can see the shame in the eyes of the police as the kids respond to the beatings with chants of shame on you. We should all bow our heads in shame as we are responsible for this travesty. After all we got the government we voted for.

Infrastructure, education, public safety and caring for the weakest among us should be the priority of our State government. We need reform. Vote them out, all of them!

March 9, 2010

This is some inside baseball – but recent Major news in the California Governor’s Race is that Steve Poizner picked up the CRA Endorsement.
The CRA is the Statewide Conservative Grassroots organization that endorsed Tom McClintock and Bill Simon pre-primary.
I spoke out forcefully in Favor of Steve Poizner before the convention.

And the Conslusion of the Red County VS. Sgt. York Saga

February 21, 2010

Folks – despite their protestations otherwise, I can prove everything.
Meg Whitman tried to hire me. Red County feigns objectivity – yet they took money from Whitman six days before axing me off of their blog.
Campaign activity 101 – and with it goes Red County’s credibility down the drain.

Hypocricy Illustrated – Conservatives for Whitman?

February 12, 2010

We know the “Conservatives” at Meg County were purchased.
We know that this Conservative refused to betray Steve Poizner (and that story will be told soon) – unlike Jim Nielsen, Brian Nestande and John Campbell who all switched their endorsements to join the establishment.
I am a delegate to the State CRP – this means in the [...]

Red County Blog’s Financial Compromise / Credibility Compromise

February 5, 2010

List of Don’t Do’s if you’re a Republican:
1. Talk about morality while nailing a lobbyist (Duvall, et. al.)
2. Talk about protecting the integrity of your blog while getting paid by a campaign (Chip Hanlon / Matt Cunningham)
3. Ask a contributor to your blog to put up a fake post (Hanlon)
4. Delete posts from contributors contrary [...]

Red County Founder Chip Hanlon Revealed to be a Fraud / Democrat Donor

February 2, 2010

Those of you who read blogs regularly remember when Sgt. York was ejected from the Red County Blog for being a (Gasp) Paid Consultant. Not only has Red County been home to a gigantic banner ad for the Whitman for Governor Campaign —-
It also turns out that the self-righteous rantings of Red County founder had [...]

Paid Bloggers? Say it Ain’t So! Brad Goerhing / Leading California Republican Blogs Jammed With Paid Bloggers?

January 7, 2010

Wow – the shock of it all!
A campaign in Northern California got busted for having one of it’s paid consultants (Note- not an independent contractor, someone on their payroll) blog and attack their opponents… the horror!
While self-righteous consultants grandstanded over my ouster from Red County, one of their own admits he’s a paid blogger and [...]

Official: U.S. Knew for 2 Years of Plane Attack Suspect’s Terror Ties

December 26, 2009

Hmmm, I have an easy solution.  If they are a known terrorist or have terrorist ties, kill them!  DUH, it’s a no brainer!  Play by the rules they play by or we will never win.  It’s that simple…
From FOXnews.com:

Go Ahead And Pass It- We will vote you out!

December 19, 2009

Hello Democrats, pass the health care bill no one but congress and the president wants and we will vote you out of office.

If George Bush was an idiot. . . .

December 17, 2009

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
If George W. [...]
