CA State Senator Alan Lowenthal Wants You To Pay For Parking, Everywhere

The essential part of the bill is that it goes to the heart of having a car. You need a place to park it. The theory is that if there were fewer parking spaces, you might think longer about taking the bus. (ABCNEWS)

State Senator Lowenthal thinks you have a convenient bus or light rail near you that you will ride if he makes you pay for parking. What a STUPID idea. This is the same logic used when Jerry Brown was Governor to build fewer roads. Rights of way for needed freeways were sold off under the theory that if traffic congestion got bad enough, people would stop driving. An example is the Watt Ave. and Sunrise Ave. corridor in Sacramento County. There would have been a freeway connecting US 50 and I 80 had Adriana Gianturco (Caltrans Director) and Jerry Brown not subscribed to this stupid logic.

Now the congestion is nearly unbearable but the rights of way are too expensive to recover and the roads cannot be built.

This is not New York City where population density favors mass transit and the city was built up around it. It is California. The same California with the highest unemployment, worse schools and highest taxes in the nation.

This kind of thinking got us the California we have, but it also got us the recent election in Massachusetts. Voters have had enough behavior modification. They need jobs.

Great idea Lowenthal, great timing! Here is Senator Lowenthal’s website. Maybe you could tell him what you think, or better yet, next election maybe vote for someone else.

ClimateGate: Nation Shivers, Cold Weather Records Broken

January 4, 2010 Climategate No Comments By SactoDan

Much of the nation awoke to frigid weather Monday as below-freezing temperatures threatened to shatter records across the South.

“We’re seeing freeze warnings not just into Central Florida, but down into the Everglades,” CNN meteorologist Rob Marciano said.

Hard freeze warnings were in effect for much of the Florida Peninsula and the Southeast, according to the National Weather Service. Record lows were expected in the Gulf Coast states and into southern Florida, said CNN meteorologist Sean Morris.

Temperatures in parts of South Carolina got down to 14 on Sunday, Morris said, breaking the record low of 18 set in 1979.

Build-A-Bear Backlash

December 24, 2009 Climategate, Retail No Comments By Republicrat

First, Chicken Little warned children that the sky is falling. And now Build-A-Bear Workshop has warned children the North Pole could disappear before Christmas.

The warm-and-fuzzy Overland, Mo.-based company now finds itself in hot water, defending an animated series on its Web site featuring polar bears, penguins and even Mrs. Claus as Santa is warned global warming is “a serious situation.”

From selling stuffed animals to pushing a political agenda, Build-A-Bear Workshops have taken this to a new low.

We are showing all three videos, however parts 2 and 3 have the real “meat and potatoes”.

Here’s an excerpt of part 2 (1:07-2:22):

Girl Elf: Santa, it’s gone!

Papa Elf: It’s gone, It’s gone!

Santa: What’s gone?

Girl Elf: Tell ‘em, Dad!

Papa Elf: The North Peak.

Santa: A mountain? A mountain’s gone? How is that possible?

Ella the polar bear: Santa, sir, that’s why I’m here. That’s why we’re here. The ice is melting!

Santa: Yes, my dear, we know, the climate is changing. There’s bound to be a little melting.

Ella: It’s worse than that, Santa, a lot worse! At the rate it’s melting, the North Pole will be gone by Christmas!”

Santa: My, my…all of this gone by next Christmas? I don’t think so.

Ella: No sir, not next Christmas, this Christmas! The day after tomorrow!

Build-A-Bear relented, taking the videos down and posting on its Web site a letter from Build-A-Bear founder and CEO Maxine Clark.

“Our intention with the polar bear story was to inspire children, through the voices of our animal characters, to make a difference in their own individual ways,” Clark said in her letter. “We did not intend to politicize the topic of global climate change or offend anyone in any way.”

Without further ado…

Little Red Book, Mao’s? No, About UN On Climate Change

On the right, Mao’s Little Red Book. On the left, a Guide to UN’s Negotiations on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation.

redbooks

The Newt Gingrich Letter 12/16/2009 -Tomorrow morning, the delegates at the UN climate change conference in Copenhagen will awaken to a very simple but powerful message: “In America, We Have a Constitution. It Begins: We the People…”

These are the opening lines of a message to the American delegates in Copenhagen and the rest of the world sent on behalf of the American people by American Solutions. They are meant as a reminder to both Obama Administration officials and international climate activists that under our constitutional system, the American people, not government bureaucrats, are sovereign.

Ronald Reagan was right when he said that America is a nation that has a government – not the other way around.

And if you have any doubt that the delegates at Copenhagen need to hear this message, take a look at this: Do you think the Climate Change is about redistribution of wealth?

This is a reference guide being handed out by one of the non-governmental organizations at Copenhagen to keep track of all the proposals to reduce emissions from deforestation and degradation. It’s purposefully modeled after the Chinese mass murderer Mao Tse-Tung’s “Little Red Book of Communism.”

And about the UN’s Little Red Book:

Global Canopy.org -Launched at the UNFCCC climate summit in December 2008 The Little REDD Book is a guide to the UN negotiations on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD). REDD aims to help halt deforestation, which causes around 20% of the world’s carbon emissions – more than the entire global transport sector. In addition, the mechanism could help fight poverty while conserving biodiversity and sustaining vital ecosystem services.

REDD has evolved rapidly since it was introduced to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2005. With 6 months to go until the landmark meeting in Copenhagen where agreement must be reached, over 30 governmental and non-governmental proposals are on the table. The Little REDD Book aims to bring clarity to this complex and rapidly-evolving area by providing insights and information on the process in non-technical language.

See it and download it here.

And the Conslusion of the Red County VS. Sgt. York Saga

February 21, 2010

Folks – despite their protestations otherwise, I can prove everything.
Meg Whitman tried to hire me. Red County feigns objectivity – yet they took money from Whitman six days before axing me off of their blog.
Campaign activity 101 – and with it goes Red County’s credibility down the drain.

Hypocricy Illustrated – Conservatives for Whitman?

February 12, 2010

We know the “Conservatives” at Meg County were purchased.
We know that this Conservative refused to betray Steve Poizner (and that story will be told soon) – unlike Jim Nielsen, Brian Nestande and John Campbell who all switched their endorsements to join the establishment.
I am a delegate to the State CRP – this means in the [...]

List of Don’t Do’s if you’re a Republican:

Red County Founder Chip Hanlon Revealed to be a Fraud / Democrat Donor

February 2, 2010

Those of you who read blogs regularly remember when Sgt. York was ejected from the Red County Blog for being a (Gasp) Paid Consultant. Not only has Red County been home to a gigantic banner ad for the Whitman for Governor Campaign —-

Paid Bloggers? Say it Ain’t So! Brad Goerhing / Leading California Republican Blogs Jammed With Paid Bloggers?

January 7, 2010

Wow – the shock of it all!
A campaign in Northern California got busted for having one of it’s paid consultants (Note- not an independent contractor, someone on their payroll) blog and attack their opponents… the horror!
While self-righteous consultants grandstanded over my ouster from Red County, one of their own admits he’s a paid blogger and [...]

December 17, 2009

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
