Obamacare sparking 10th Amendment rebellion, action in seven states
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. -Tenth Amendment To The Constitution Of The United States of America
Looks like the steadily growing list of constitutional, ethical and political outrages that constitute the Harry Reid version of Obamacare is sparking a rebellion in the states, as AP reports South Carolina’s attorney general plans to investigate the vote-buying that surrounded the proposal in the Senate majority leader’s office.
Do you ever wonder what oath Senators take when sworn into office?
Here is the text of the Oath Of Office Senators swear: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
The language in the oath is straightforward and easy to understand, as is the language in the tenth amendment. The Democrat Party Controlled Congress’s health care mandates seem to violate the tenth amendment, hence the challenges.
I am not sure WHAT laws the wheeling and dealing going on over at EARMARK CENTRAL violates. Take a cruise over to Michelle Malkin’s blog to see who is doing what with our money. It reads like corruption with a capital C.
Perhaps the Senators view the Constitution and their sworn oaths as mere formalities?
Back in the day it may have been possible for Congress to hide what they do. But with blogs and multiple 24 hour news networks they are subject to constant and instant scrutiny. It is painfully obvious by the out of control spending, borrowing, and power grabbing they are attempting that this Congress has little regard for the Constitutional limits of their power.
The Constitution is not an option to be followed when it is convenient. It is the law of the land. If elected officials will not respect it, how long until people start questioning the validity of the government or the elections that installed them?
Search the Constitution for the Federal Government’s power to mandate health care, and tell me what you find.
