City of Sacramento to Consider Economic Sanctions on Arizona

Go K.J. Go!  Why on earth would the City of Sacramento stick their nose in to the Arizona Immigration issue?
Most of the 80 speakers who addressed the council supported the city boycotting Arizona, including former Sacramento Police Chief Arturo Venegas, who called the law “the civil rights issue of today.”
“Will a boycott hurt Arizona?” Venegas [...]

CA-Sen Update: Carly in Commanding Lead, Tom Campbell Melting Down

On Thursday – I blogged asking if it was time for Chuck DeVore to suspend his campaign.

We got our answer – the DeVore camp is going out with a blaze of glory attempting to bloody Carly as much as they can – leaving Tom Campbell out of the mix.

In a final act of hypocricy – Chuck DeVore got caught taking Per-Diem the day he flew to Southern California to attend a debate. I guess the charges about DeVore’s campaign being taxpayer-subsidized have some merit.

Meantime – Tom Campbell was the beneficiary of a misleading mailer. (gasp) Some liberal Republican group envoked the name of Reagan in an attempt to support Tom Campbell. Your humble blogger reminded people of the laundry list of tax increases Campbell either authored, voter for or endorsed.

Then – this morning, I wrote an essay entitled Memorial Day Trifecta for Thomas the Tax Engine. Terrorism, Taxes and (vote) Talley.

Not only is Campbell a serial tax-raiser – he defended Sami Al-Arian, a maniac professor tied to Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Nice theme for Memorial Day!

All in All – it sucks to be Tom Campbell right now.

Larry Naritelli, A Tea Party Conservative Choice For Governor of California

“I will always stand by the Constitution, especially the rights granted to us in the Bill of Rights.”

Ever heard of Larry Naritelli? Me neither until today. I had no idea there was a grass roots conservative candidate for Governor of California.

Here is an excerpt from his bio.

Larry is a 53 year old resident of Carlsbad, CA.  In 1979 after graduating from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management, Larry moved to California.  He lived and worked in Los Angeles and Orange County until 1983 when he moved to the San Diego area….

….Although he is a lifelong Republican, Larry became disenfranchised from the party in 2008 as it moved away from the conservative values of Ronald Reagan.  In 2009 he joined the Tea Party movement as an American patriot to join others who believe in small limited government, low taxes, and free market capitalism.  As he participated in Tea Party events it became apparent that there are millions of other Californians who believe in the same principles and values.  Throughout the year he actively fought to stop the water restrictions on our farmers and the CARB regulations that are driving jobs and businesses out of state.

Who else is running for Governor? The reinvented as a conservative Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, the rich enough to buy it for herself EBAY Executive Meg Whitman, or the tired old rerun Jerry Brown? I am sure they all have some redeeming qualities and maybe even positions on policy I agree with.

But I am tired of the same old politicians running our State. I am giving Larry Naritelli a long look, and a hundred bucks. Maybe someone with a TEA PARTY attitude can win for a change, and if not, I can still vote for one of the others.

Link to Larry Naritelli’s website.

5/28/2010, shameless bump

Is it Tenacity or Absurdity? Should Chuck DeVore Suspend His Campaign?

(The Above Picture was taken by Chuck DeVore outside the ElDorado County Tea Party Meeting. Some 600 people were in attendance and Carly Fiorina received a standing ovation at the meeting.)

(Please note that the bumper sticker was a DeVore Sticker – with the DeVore half covered by a Carly Sticker)

Three Polls:

All Three show Chuck DeVore firmly ensconced in Third Place.

Recently, we have been treated to DeVore emails touting a video relating DeVore to the “24″ Series, vowing to fight on and attacking Carly Fiorina – the prohibitive favorite in the CA-Sen Race.

Chuck DeVore is attacking Carly incessantly through Blogs and Facebook – because he has no money to advertise. The fact that DeVore is not attacking Tom Campbell should give you pause as to his motive.

The Only poll that shows DeVore anywhere close is one he paid for.

The DeVore campaign will be quick to point out that there are a lot of Absentee ballots out there still. (Placer says only about 10% have been turned in)

I submit that this is due to the well-poisoning that is going on in the Guv Primary – people are confused about their choice for Governor.

Not Senate. Three Polls, all with almost the same numbers taken at almost the same time: 44-21 / 46-23 / 41-21 Fiorina over Campbell. Only in Chuck’s own poll did he break 16%. The support for Fiorina is not “Soft” support as has been asserted in the Governor Polling.

And now the DeVore campaign is rolling out Prop 26 from 2000 (sound familiar?) and using that to say that Fiorina is a Liberal. This can only help Tom Campbell – unless DeVore’s goal is to finish second for his own ego.

In addition the Prop 26 attack is hollow as Fiorina opposed Prop 39 (basically the same thing as Prop 26) a couple years later.

It is simply not statistically possible to get three polls with similar results at a similar time run by three outside firms – unless Team DeVore wants to espouse a conspiracy theory.

The evidence of A convincing  Carly primary Victory is compelling and substantial.

Therefore – it is reasonable and for the good of the Republican Party that I call on Chuck DeVore and Tom Campbell, for that matter to suspend their campaigns so we can focus on an enemy of America – Barbara Boxer.

Repost: CA-19 Update: Documentation Linked Here $70,000 Violation of Campaign Finance Law by Jeff Denham?

Felonies. That’s what these violations are. Federal Law prohibits the comingling or transferring of State Money with/to Federal Money.

ON 5/22/2010 – in a debate, Denham admitted using State Senate Campaign funds to finance a benefit concert. Click Here to our past post about Jeff Denham being featured in advertisements for a “Charity Event”. He indicated $25,000 + a “Capital Investment” in to the benefit concert.

Here’s the deal – Jeff Denham had a wad of money in his State Account that could not be converted to federal money. Dave Gilliard, his consultant – whose office was raided earlier this year in connection with a scandal in Riverside County – hatched a plan.

Stand up a charity event and put Denham in the middle of it.

According to the attached documents – a firm in my home town of Rocklin, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dave Gilliard – Almance Advisers made all the media buys for this charitable event.

You will notice copies of several checks signed by Dave Gilliard out of the Almance Advisors account. They didn’t even try to hide what they were doing… they simply flaunted campaign finance law to aid and abet the Ken Doll.

Look at all the checks – the amount of money spent on advertising ($70,000!) will far exceed the anticipated receipts from the event itself. That stinks.

The questions are obvious – Why did Dave Gilliard, Denham’s Consultant make it so obvious – and did they knowingly flaunt campaign finance laws in order to promote the Ken Doll via this event?

This is also an obvious abuse of Veterans by Denham/Gilliard to steal an election and to hide the illegal nature of their actions.

This, folks is real corruption, with real money – not the imagined stuff of Facebook fantasies.

CA-19 / Ca Lt Governor Update: Jeff Denham + Abel Maldonado = California’s Attempt to Write it’s own Railroad Laws

AB962 – 9/7/2005.

Sponsored by the California Teamsters Council.

An attempt to impose burdensome California-Only safety standards on the already beleaguered rail industry.

Arnold Vetoed this bill – reminding Denham, Maldonado and others:

The Courts have consistently invalidated state laws based on preemption by the Federal Railway Safety Act.

While this bill was introduces to improve safety – it could have the opposite effect for employees, passengers and the public…

Denham, Maldonado and critical thinking – syntax error.

May 17, 2010

Now – did you see the monstrous, fiscally un-conservative mailer from  Thomas the Tax Engine? So did I, it was cat-pan liner. I cut and pasted some analysis from Team Carly as to why our favorite Marxist Republican is not on the air – anywhere.
