Let Palin Be Palin…

The Yolo Cowboy, who is a Contributor here and with whom I have blogged with for a couple of years had a great post about Sarah Palin. I thought it was a great point and wanted to share it with you…

While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

‘Welcome to heaven,’ says St. Peter. ‘Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem . We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we’re not sure what to do with you.’

‘No problem, just let me in,’ says the man.

‘Well, I’d like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we’ll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.’

‘Really, I’ve made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,’ says the senator.

‘I’m sorry, but we have our rules.’

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.

They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.

Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises..

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.

‘Now it’s time to visit heaven.’

So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing.

They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

‘Well, then, you’ve spent a day in hell and another in heaven.

Now choose your eternity.’

The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers:

‘Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.’

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

Now the doors of the elevator open and he’s in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. ‘I don’t understand,’ stammers the senator.

‘Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there’s just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?’

The devil looks at him, smiles and says, ‘Yesterday we were campaigning ……. Today you voted.’

Back in March, 2003, George Bush did something most unusual at his televised news conference….he ignored Helen Thomas. Not only did he refuse to acknowledge her to ask a question he dealt her another insult. Traditionally Ms. Thomas concluded White House press conferences by saying, “Thank you, Mr. President”, but this time Bush ended the conference himself by saying “Thank you for your questions.” It was a notable snub and the press took that note.

Bush’s actions, IMO, said more about him than it did about Ms. Thomas. Helen Thomas is an outspoken critic of George Bush and her questions were often pointed and tough. As we all know, Bush doesn’t like being questioned….so it seems neither does Obama or Biden.

We all know Bush has been a secretive and arrogant president so why bring this up now? Well, I’ve said on a number of occasions that I think Barack Obama is the left’s version of George W. Bush and here is just another example to illustrate why I think that.

In a satellite interview Thursday, WFTV’s Barbara West (a Florida T.V. station), Joe Biden was asked some very tough questions. One question asked Biden how Obama’s desire to spread the wealth wasn’t being Marxist. Biden replied with “Are you joking?” I can understand why Biden would think it was a joke given how seldom either he or Obama are asked tough questions.

The Obama camp’s response to the interview was to kill an interview that WFTV had scheduled with Biden’s wife and issue this statement:

“This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election,” wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central FL communications director for the Obama campaign, according to the Sentinel. SOURCE

Those of us not in the tank for Obama have often asked why the media has given him a pass, time and time again. Well, here’s the answer. The media either asks the questions Obama is comfortable with or he takes his little red wagon and goes home….no interviews for the offending party.

This arrogance, this idea that he is above answering the tough questions is EXACTLY the arrogance of GWB that got us into the troubles were are in today. The Bush administration bullied the press and refused to answer the questions American needed answers to and so, too, will Barack Obama.

Take heed….Obama has the same bullying attitude and this is exactly what we can expect from his as president. Here’s the warning of what kind of administration we can expect…pay attention.

Is there some kind of Joe Biden translator available? Why is Biden speaking in code?

Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, were gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

The question is who is going to generate the crisis? Are you planing on some kind of war here, Joe? It sounds like we would be better served to elect McCain and forgo the crisis.

“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate, And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you - not financially to help him - we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

What Biden seems to be saying is that Obama supporters need to support Obama no matter how things look. His comment is reminiscent of Obama’s comment to his supporters about getting in people’s faces. In other words, no matter what you think we are right and you need to tell everyone we are right.

“Gird your loins,” Biden told the crowd. “We’re gonna win with your help, God willing, we’re gonna win, but this is not gonna be an easy ride. This president, the next president, is gonna be left with the most significant task. It’s like cleaning the Augean stables, man. This is more than just, this is more than – think about it, literally, think about it – this is more than just a capital crisis, this is more than just markets. This is a systemic problem we have with this economy.”

Gird your loins? Does Biden now think he’s Jesus? Give me a break. And “cleaning the Augean stables”….did those Greek columns go to Biden’s head? Does he think Obama is Hercules for God’s sake?

“I’ve forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know, so I’m not being falsely humble with you. I think I can be value added, but this guy has it,” the Senate Foreign Relations chairman said of Obama. “This guy has it. But he’s gonna need your help. Because I promise you, you all are gonna be sitting here a year from now going, ‘Oh my God, why are they there in the polls? Why is the polling so down? Why is this thing so tough?’ We’re gonna have to make some incredibly tough decisions in the first two years. So I’m asking you now, I’m asking you now, be prepared to stick with us. Remember the faith you had at this point because you’re going to have to reinforce us.”

Here we go with the faith stuff again. People shouldn’t have faith in other people, IMO. And just what is “IT” that Obama has? Seriously, has Biden been drinking?

“There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go, ‘Whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I don’t know about that decision’,” Biden continued. “Because if you think the decision is sound when they’re made, which I believe you will when they’re made, they’re not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if they’re popular, they’re probably not sound.”

What IS Biden talking about? Biden seems to be insinuating that we are too stupid to know if a decision is sound and only support bad decisions because they are popular. Since when are only bad decisions popular? I swear this is some very convoluted reasoning on Joe’s part.

“You literally can see what these kids are up against, our kids in that region,” Biden said in recalling when his helicopter was forced down due to a snowstorm there. “The place is crawling with al Qaeda. And it’s real.”

“We do not have the military capacity, nor have we ever, quite frankly, in the last 20 years, to dictate outcomes,” he cautioned. “It’s so much more important than that. It’s so much more complicated than that. And Barack gets it.”

Yes, we know our military is up against tough conditions. Yes, we know that our military is stretched thin. It doesn’t take “brilliant” Obama to get it…we get it.

“I probably shouldn’t have said all this because it dawned on me that the press is here,” he joked.

Ya think, Joe?

“All kidding aside, these guys have left us in a God-awful place,” he then said of the Bush regime, promptly wrapping up his remarks. “We have the ability to straighten it out. It’s gonna take a little bit of time, so I ask you to stay with us. Stay with us.”

SOURCE

It would be nice to believe you have the ability to straighten it out, Joe, but quite frankly I haven’t seen anything from you or Obama that convinces me of that. And since you are guaranteeing an Obama win will bring a crisis you just gave us one more reason to NOT vote for Obama.

We have heard how dangerous it is to have Sarah Palin a heartbeat away from the presidency….well Biden is as or more dangerous. He doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. Obama will spend half his time trying to clean up Biden’s gaffes, and Biden will spend half his time explaining What Obama Really Meant (WORM).

An Army of Joes

Posted by: Pagan Power | Comments (0)

A refreshing trend is becoming fashionable all over the country. Ordinary working class Americans are standing up and speaking out in response to the savage attacks against Joe the Plumber. In Joe they see themselves. Someone just trying to live the American dream. Families only trying to better their lives and leave behind a more prosperous future for their children.

To them Joe is a hero. Not because he is a plumber and a single father, but because he had the audacity to question The One about his tax plan. And after he received the response he had his personal life exposed and demeaned not only by the complicit Obamedia, but by the Democratic presidential candidates themselves. Ordinary Americans are fighting back.

They are mad as hell and they aren’t going to take it any more.

I am ordering my bumper stickers today. Why? I have seen this movie before; it doesn’t have a happy ending.

Folks in their twenties and thirties, who get their news from the Daily Show, only see Republicans as war mongering buffoons. To them, Democrats are all warm and fuzzy. They need to experience the pain of a Congress and executive branch controlled by liberal Democrats. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama will have total control and no one to say; are you sure this will work. As much as I hate to see the country go through it, the best lessons are learned first hand.

For all you college kids supporting Obama because he ‘gets it’, best of luck trying to find a good job when you graduate. Oh sure, the media will go along with Obama the first two years or so, explaining the reason Obama’s economy isn’t living up to his promises are the lingering affects of George W Bush. In the third year, young Americans will start saying, this is not what I signed up for.

For all the Boomers who had forgotten Jimmy Carter’s disastrous economic policies, the lessons of why you don’t raise taxes during an economic slowdown will become painfully obvious. In the third year, older Americans will start saying, this is not what I signed up for.

For everyone in their prime earning ages of 40-55, guess who will have to ‘pay their fair share’ to ’spread the wealth around’. You guessed it. I remember President Clinton promising a middle-class tax cut when he ran, once in office, he was ’shocked’ how bad the economy was and those middle class tax cuts were abandoned. In the third year, middle-class Americans will start saying, this is not what I signed up for.

Take a peek at Europe if you want to see where Pelosi, Reid and Obama want to lead us. After a few decades of ‘spreading the wealth around’ through feel-good socialism, France, and Germany have elected conservative leadership, with Great Brittan soon to follow. These new conservatives have an almost impossible task in front of them, to wean the public off their total reliance on government to function.

Americans seem to be enamored with the power and promise of government to fix everything. Every time you hear Obama say, “we have to invest” (in education, health care, whatever) just substitute “we are going to hire a bunch more government employees who are not very effective at anything to try and fix this.” Not very inspiring when you think of it in those terms is it?

I admit openly the current crop calling themselves Republicans have forgotten why the people sent them to Washington in the first place, stop spending money like Democrats and stand up for the little guy. However, the Democrats who have been control of Congress for past two years are an unmitigated disaster.

Well folks, I am not signing up for four year of Pelosi, Reid and Obama.
